Farmall Super H hot scroll later six volt to 12 volt conversion

i have a farmall super H, it was a 6v system but i coverted it to a 12v system, when i did this i replaced the 6v scroll with a 12v curl, and it runs actually good for about 20 minutes then the whorl heats up and shuts off, I have retimed it and reajusted the points, and the pluggs are in skilful condition, besides the ignition switch is practiced, and so I practise not know what to exercise next to get it to work ____________________________________________________________________________________ Are yous running a pos or neg ground system? On a neg ground system, your points should be on the neg side of the coil. .... information technology was a pos basis organization when information technology was 6v just i changed information technology to a neg footing with the 12v, right now the wire from the distributer is on the neg post on the scroll, and the wire from the ignition switch is on the pos postal service on the coil .... I suspect you lot have a twelve volt coil that says, on the side,(external resistor) and you need to add 1. Unless the 12 volt coils specifically say "internal resistor," they need an exteral resistor. Wells AL795 (because it has the metallic strap to adhere to newer coil holders and includes minor bolts to adhere wires) {this matches what IH used when they went to 12 volt for the 460/560} or Information technology goes between the wire from the ignition switch and the + last of the roll. Later coil holders had a tab to screw it to, but you lot may have to brand a tab to mount it to the commodities that holds the scroll to the distributor. .... well i tryed putting the 6v gyre back on and a 12v to 6v resister on the ignition line just the curl notwithstanding heated up and the tractor shut off, is it possible that the resister is bad or what?? .... did y'all take a 6 or 12 volt battery ....

They used Delco resistors when IH switched to 12 volts. Run into if your local Autozone or such has a resistor for the firewall of a '63 Chevy six cylinder. It should work.
I use either a:
Wells CR101 (it is a thicker ceramic holder and poses a problem attaching)
